{ABOUT}
♣ BACKGROUND
Although most of his early history is unknown, Dr. Siebren de Kuiper was considered a pioneer in the field of astrophysics. Gaining renown in the scientific world for his groundbreaking research and eccentric personality, he dedicated his entire career working with gravity, hoping to find a way to harness the power of gravity in his lab in The Hague. Believing he had finally figured out how to unlock the secrets of the universe, he went on an expedition to the International Space Station to conduct his most vital experiment to date. The experiment went horribly wrong, exposing De Kuiper to a brief but devastating black hole. Siebren woke up in a government facility strapped to a gurney with no memory of what happened or how he had gotten there. For years, he was detained under the moniker "Subject Sigma", spending most of his time frantically trying to keep his mind from fracturing under the weight of the psychic damage he had received from the experiment, becoming almost comatose. When the terrorist organization Talon discovered his existence, they launched an attack on the facility he was being kept in and broke him out. Under Talon's 'care', Siebren regained consciousness and, after learning to control his new gravity-manipulation abilities, has continued his research, but he is not the same man he once was. He struggles to keep himself lucid most of the time. As such, he is completely unaware that Talon is using both him and his research for their own nefarious gain.
♣ PERSONALITY
Before the accident, Sigma was eccentric but harmless, a man who threw his entire life into his work with no regrets. On good days, he is much the same way, an optimistic man who occasionally loses himself in academic work and speaks a little too science-y for casual conversation. Despite what he went through, he still speaks of space with a great fondness, calling it 'beautiful but cold', and shows excitement for doing 'field research'. He seems to dislike violence for the sake of violence but is willing to defend both himself and his team. However, he has moments where he has more trouble keeping himself tethered to reality. He often suffers from auditory hallucinations, the most common one being a piano melody, and loses focus easily, often drifting into thought mid-sentence. He also seems to dissociate into a much more aggressive personality on occasion, claiming that the universe is singing to him and being more willing to cause rampant destruction.
♣ APPEARANCE
Siebren de Kuiper is an older gentleman, 62 years old and starting to show his age through the gauntness of his face. It is implied that he is bald now to better fit his armor, but his hair, when grown in, is black but graying with a receding hairline. His eyes are very pale blue and framed by pointed, bushy eyebrows. His exact height is hard to dictate since he floats, but a rough guess would be about 6'5. He is mildly fit.
♣ ABILITIES
Gravity Manipulation: Siebren floats about a foot off the ground and can manipulate the gravity of objects around him to a degree.
Accretion: Siebren can collect debris around him to form a boulder that he can launch. On impact with another person, it not only causes damage, but also knocks them back and stuns them.
Kinetic Grasp: Siebren can absorb the kinetic energy of projectiles for about 3 seconds, converting it into shields.
Gravitic Flux: At a cost to his mental integrity, Siebren can unleash the full extent of his powers, gaining temporary flight and the ability to actively manipulate gravity, launching people and objects into the air before
